Contempt occurs only when there is willful disobedience and non- compliance of the order passed by the court

In CIVIL APPEAL NO. 1510 OF 2019), ER. K. ARUMUGAM vs V. BALAKRISHNAN & ORS., the Supreme Court has held that a party can be proceeded for disobedience of the order of the court only when there is willful disobedience and non-compliance of the order passed by the court. The Court also said that the court has to confine itself to the four corners of the order alleged to have been disobeyed and further observed that in the contempt jurisdiction, the court cannot travel beyond the four corners of the order which is alleged to have been floated,
